Infrared Photography
Our eyes can't see beyond red. That is where IR photography comes in.
The RM-90 filter is used for infrared photography. Infrared spectrum
is sensitive to ultraviolet rays and the shorter wavelengths of the
visible spectrum so it is necessary to filter out all but the infrared
rays. RM90 passes only that above 900nm. Often used in crime detection,
medical photography, detection of distribution of vegetation, Special
Effects etc.
IR photography is fun because green trees and plants reflect a lot of IR so they look very bright in IR. Likewise blue sky has almost no IR, so the sky looks black and clouds really stand out in IR. Haze and fog scatter blue light and have little effect in IR, so IR images cut through much haze and fog. Play with it. It's fun.
The RM90 filter begins transmission at around 900nm. It is constructed from quality glass which is coated on both sides for protection and to make the image optically correct.
